The biggest university in Malaysia is the 1245-hectare UPM university, which is also one of Malaysia’s finest institutions.

University of Putra Malaysia is a Malaysian public research university based in Serdang, Selangor; its abbreviation is UPM. Previously known as University Pertanian Malaysia, this institution focuses on agricultural sciences and associated subjects.

1- UPM University

University Putra Malaysia as the largest university in Malaysia was founded in 1971 and located in Serdang, Selangor. The university area is 1,245.056 hectares (3,076.60 acres).

In addition to its main campus in Serdang, UPM also has a satellite campus in Bintulu, Sarawak. The National Resources Training Centre left its temporary facility in Kuching in June 1987 and moved to Bintulu. On August 27, 1987, the campus in Bintulu was designated as a UPM branch campus and was given the initials UPMKB. Two faculties—the Faculty of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences and the Faculty of Humanities, Management, and Science—as well as one institute, the Institute of Ecosystem Science Borneo, make up the Bintulu campus at the moment. With over 1600 total students, the campus provides undergraduate and graduate studies.

2- UTM University

University Technology Malaysia, second biggest university in Malaysia was established in 1972, located in Skudai, Iskandar Puteri, Johor and its area size is about 1,148 hectares (2,836.77 acres).

The main campus of UTM, which has three locations, is in Skudai and was the first college established in the state of Johor. It is the second-largest public institution in Malaysia after University Putra, covering an area of 1148 hectares (UPM). The distance from the state capital, Johor Bahru, to it is around 20 kilometers.

3- UKM University

University Kebangsan Malaysia, known as National university Malaysia, as the third largest university in Malaysia was established in 1970, located in Bandar Baru Bangi, Selangor, Malaysia and its area size is 1,096 hectares (2,708.27 acres).

There are 17,500 students enrolled in the undergraduate program, and 5,105 students enrolled in the postgraduate program; of these, 1,368 are international students coming from 35 countries.

4- UUM University

The 1,061-hectare site, which was once used for tin mining, is encircled on all sides by breathtaking scenery, including verdant tropical woods and snow-capped mountains. In addition, the Sintok and Badak rivers both run through the campus, making for a setting that is exceptionally pleasing to the eye and calming to the spirit.

5- UNIMAS University

University Malaysia Sarawak, often known as the Institution of Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), is a public university in Malaysia that can be found in the city of Kota Samarahan in the state of Sarawak. The university area size is 810 hectares  (2,001.55 acres). On December 24, 1992, UNIMAS was formally established as a corporation. Recently, QS World University Rankings placed UNIMAS in the top 200 of their list of Asian universities for 2017, placing it in the top 200th overall.

6- UMS University

University Malaysia Sabah, or UMS for short, is a public university in the country of Malaysia. Its name directly translates to “University of Malaysia of Sabah.” On November 24, 1994, the institution became the ninth public university in the nation after receiving its official charter. The campus of the university encompasses a total land area of 999 acres and is found in Kota Kinabalu, which is found in the state of Sabah in Malaysia. UMS is frequently considered to have one of the most beautiful campuses in Southeast Asia because to its location, which is directly in front of Mount Kinabalu and behind it is the South China Sea.

7- UM University

The University of Malaya, which was the country’s first university, has a campus that spans a total area of 750 acres (309 hectares) and can be found to the southwest of Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia. The University of Malaya is rooted on a long-standing culture of giving back to the community. Its forerunners, the King Edward VII College of Medical, which was formed in 1905 and Raffles College, which was created in 1929, were both founded in response to pressing needs, one in the field of medicine and the other in education. When these two institutions joined forces in October 1949 to establish the University of Malaya, it was with the intention of combining their resources in order to carry out an even more important mission: to assist in the establishment of a new nation by fostering the development of an educated and skilled male workforce.
