Insurance
After you have made arrangements for your housing, it is essential for you to get acquainted with the healthcare system in Malaysia. The public sector and the private sector are the two primary categories of healthcare providers; the prices charged by each category are distinct.
It is mandatory for international students studying in Malaysia to have medical insurance in accordance with the following conditions in order for them to be eligible for a student visa:
1) The health insurance policy must be obtained in the individual’s home country.
2) The health insurance policy must be in effect for the whole of the student’s time spent in school.
It is crucial to have medical insurance coverage since it helps to offset the expense of medical care and gives you peace of mind, allowing you to focus on other important concerns, like your education.

Every student entering Malaysia is required to obtain medical insurance. All foreign students must be insured by a medical health insurance plan bought locally. If you advise your institution of the day you entered Malaysia, you will be covered beginning on that date.
Through his or her educational institution, an overseas student may choose one of the following medical insurance plans:
1) Etiqa Family Takaful Berhad (EFTB)
2) Great Eastern Takaful Berhad (GETB)
3) The Pacific Insurance Berhad (TPIB)
International students may be offered medical insurance directly from insurance carriers by Malaysian higher education institutions. Do inquire with your institution about the packages provided and the premiums associated with each.
