INDONESIA, Dec 13 – The university’s initiative to provide a broad platform to achieve excellent graduates should be detailed and prioritized to provide holistic experience and education.
The College Representative Council, Tan Sri Mustaffa Babjee College (KMB) Session 2022/2023, University Putra Malaysia (UPM) has taken the initiative to organize the KMB Global Outreach program in collaboration with Universitas Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta and Universitas Padjajaran, Bandung, Indonesia recently .
The program with the theme of “Borderless Education” aims to provide opportunities for KMB students to gain exposure to education at an international level with foreign institutions involved.
At the same time, the program is expected to produce students with international leadership and management skills.
Principal of UPM KMB College, Prof. Associate Dr. Jasronita Jasni said this program was organized to create an intact network with students from overseas institutions as well as provide a platform for sharing academic knowledge, volunteering experiences, campus life and cultural activities that promote lifelong learning.
“This international collaboration has become one of the effective mediums in preparing our students to be more open in giving opinions and have the opportunity to do various humanitarian activities as well as gain knowledge in terms of customs, culture and education applied in Indonesia,” he said.
KMB Global Outreach’s mobility program director, Alan David, said the program would not have been carried out without the help of all parties, especially the members of the executive committee who are committed to making the mobility program a success. “Thanks to the cooperation from all parties, especially the leading representatives from Universitas Gadjah Mada and Universitas Padjajaran we were able to join hands in organizing this mobility program.”I would like to thank the committee members from both sides for their cooperation, time and energy in making this KMB Global Outreach program a success,” he said. In addition, the program has the concept of sharing academic knowledge where students from UPM learn how to learn and teach and provide opportunities for UPM students to exchange views with students from Universitas Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta and Universitas Padjajaran, Bandung, Indonesia.
The program that has been carried out with Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Yogyakarta, Indonesia includes activities such as visits to the faculties of medicine and social sciences as well as customs and cultural exchange sessions between UPM and UGM students.
Meanwhile, the joint program with Universitas Padjajaran (UNPAD), Bandung, Indonesia takes the same concept as implemented at UGM and there is an additional slot for volunteering activities implemented at the Muhammadiyah Orphanage, Bandung where there are friendly sessions and several other bonding activities with children -orphans in the orphanage.
The KMB Global Outreach Program is able to achieve the goal of producing outstanding students in terms of personality, academics and co-curricular in line with the UPM Strategic Plan 2021-2025, which is Goal 1 to Create Resilient Graduates to Face Upcoming Challenges and Goal 3 to Preserve the Ecosystem of Industry and Community Networks . – UPM
