School of Aerospace Engineering
The highly competitive four-year undergraduate aerospace program at USM is accredited by the Board Engineers of Malaysia (BEM), a signatory of the Washington Accord. We employ active teaching and learning methodologies to a wide range of courses, including aerodynamics, aircraft structures, flight stability and control, and aircraft and spacecraft design, using Outcome-Based Education (OBE) extensively. In contrast, our Master’s and Doctoral programs emphasize research findings that have a significant influence on aeronautical knowledge or that solve specific issues within the local industry or community. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) algorithm and technology improvements, nano-satellite technology and design, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) for aerospace production, and ‘green’ propulsion are among the most popular study subjects.
