SEOUL, Nov. 19 – Two research projects led by the research team from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (FKM) of University Technology Malaysia have successfully won one silver, one bronze in addition to successfully obtaining a special award from the Taiwan Invention Association in the Seoul International Invention Fair (SIIF) 2022.
The silver medal award was won through the research project “Pomeca Canaliculata Trap for Paddy Field Towards a Sustainable Agriculture Technology”. This project also received special award recognition from the Taiwan Invention Association.
The research team of this project consists of Ts. Mohd Azlan Suhaimi, Mr. Khidzir Zakaria, Mr. Mohd Faridh Ahmad Zaharuddin, Prof. Associate Dr. Norizah Redzuan, Zaiti Akmal Dahlan, Mohd Mizam Ayob, Irwan Idris, Mazzuin Safaruddin and Fadzilawati Senan.
Meanwhile, the research project “Banana Stem Fiber Craft Technology (BSF CrafTec)” successfully obtained a bronze medal. This project is also the result of collaboration between FKM UTM researchers and students of SMK Pengerang Utama.
The research team of this project consists of Prof. Associate Dr. Norizah Redzuan, Mr. Khidzir Zakaria, Mr. Roslin Yasak, Tan Jia Ming, Lim Zhi Yao, Masitah Aisyah Hamzah, Jamilah Yahya, Nurin Nadhirah Azlen, Muhammad Yafik Yusri Ya’akob and Muhammad Irsyad Rifdi Abdul Rashid.
The success achieved by the FKM research team from Seoul is evidence of UTM’s innovation and expertise recognized internationally. Hopefully this achievement will be a starting point in achieving more success to make the name of UTM better in the future.
